Complete and Blank Cards Frequently Asked Questions PDF Print E-mail

Got questions concerning any of our cards products? This FAQ should help.

New answers are marked red.

Q: Can I use your cards without printing them?
A: Most likely not. If you're using a laptop at your gaming table, there are better ways to check spell descriptions (the System Reference Document, for instance).

Q: I've got your cards. Now what?
A: All our cards have a front and back. While you'll not always need the back, chances are that you will. So here's what you need to do: print the front, then put the paper back into your printer in a way that you can now print the back. Simple, eh?

Q: But the back doesn't align properly to the front.
A: Ask a question, please.

Q: Ok... why doesn't the back align to the front?
A: Rest assured that the front and back do align properly in the document - both sides are aligned to the center. As a sort of proof, check out this image (96 kb jpg). If you don't trust me, try this for yourself - just take screen shots.
That said, there might be other causes for the misalignment. Most importantly, check your print settings - as the front side uses more space than the back, the main cause of the printing problem is auto-resizing, as that'll make the front smaller than the back. So don't use that option.

Q: That doesn't help. So what else can I do about it?
A: Try using a different Acrobat Reader (AR), as some are better for the task at hand than others (please don't ask why, as I've got no idea), and AR v6 seems to be worst of all. If you haven't got access to AR v5, try upgrading to AR v7, as this seems to solve the problem most of the time. If it doesn't, try upgrading your printer driver. If you've got access to a different printer, try that one - AR v7 runs properly with some printers, but not with others.
