8-31-2005: The Terrible Secret
Let me tell you a secret: it's no fun to do dozens of stats at once.
Granted, for those of you who did this it's pretty much common knowledge. But I guess most - if not all - of you have never crafted more than five or six creatures with class levels at the same time (most likely for an adventure). And, in my opinion, that's fun - I just love to design minor and major villains to throw at my players in our regular RPG sessions.
But the task at hand is different. As long as I'm working on DB there'll always be a need for more stats: higher levels for the upcoming DB update, goblinoids for the first web-enhancements (and drow for the second), city dwellers for the first expansion, and so on.

As far as I know most of you use stats from different sources anyway - but it wouldn't be fair for those of you who haven't got access to other sources.

Don't get me wrong: I love working on DB. But some parts of that work are less exciting than others. And that, above all else, is the main reason I can't publish additional stuff (free or not) every month.

There's a solution for my problem though: just design DB stuff where there's no need for new opponents. New quests and NPCs come to mind, and maybe I'll do just that after the first web-enhancement has been released - but that has to be finished first, doesn't it?

So help me to decide what to design next - head over to this thread on our messag board and tell me what you'd like to see.
